Teen Volunteers

Teen Volunteers earn community service hours and gain job experience by assisting library staff and helping to make the library a better place.

Teens ages of 13-17 as of Sept. 1 of the current school year can volunteer at the library. Volunteers are used year-round, mainly in the children’s room. Positions are limited each semester. Fall openings are filled in August, in December for Spring, and Summer positions are filled in early May.

Community service hours are earned for volunteering at the library.

Things Teen Volunteers do include:

  • Prepare storytime and club craft projects and handouts.
  • Straighten and dust shelves in the Children's and YA areas.
  • Help keep the Children's Room and Young Adult areas looking neat.
  • Help with events and storytimes.
